2018 Route -- 

This 7-day, epic road cycling tour will begin June 24th, 2018 in Leadville, CO, the highest incorporated city in the United States at an elevation of 10,152 feet. From Leadville we will be cycling over Independence pass at 12,095 ft - the highest paved pass in Colorado!  Please take time to acclimate for this tour!  Upon descending Independence pass we will be cycling though the quaint town of Aspen into our host town of Carbondale at 86 miles for the day.  June 25 will take you from Carbondale over McClure pass at 8,763 ft into Delta for an 86 mile day.  From Delta we travel 73 miles into Palisade over the breathtaking Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic byway.  After Palisade we are in for a 95 mile day!  Cycling on I -70 out of Palisade for about 8 miles, then up Hwy 65 again to avoid some CDOT construction. At De Beque we take Hwy 6 frontage road until mile 77 then merge onto  I-70 just west of Glenwood, entering at Chacra and exiting just before Glenwood. We will cycle on the I-70 shoulder about 13 miles total out of the 95 mile day ending at Colorado Mountain College - Spring Valley outside of Glenwood Springs for the day off!  After a relaxing day off in Glenwood Springs we will cycle the Glenwood Canyon and the 31 miles of the Colorado River Road, 17 of which is well maintained dirt, to Eagle for a 93 mile day. (short, non-dirt option available).   Before you know it, the last day, from Eagle, climbing Tennessee Pass at 10,424 ft and back to Leadville 60 miles for the tour end celebration!
