Our Trek Begins:

Day one: Fort Collins to Estes Park

Day Two:Estes Park to Granby (Rocky Mountain National Park/Trail Ridge Rd.)

Day Four:Steamboat Springs (a day of rest – optional loop presented by Moots Cycles)

Day Five:Steamboat Springs to Walden (10th anniversary special events planned)

Day Six:Walden to Fort Collins (showers, lunch, return home)

This year will prove to be our best tour yet. An adventure of a lifetime. You’ll experience unparalleled beauty as you trek through the majestic mountains of Colorado. There’s an abuandance of wildlife to be discovered and many alternate routes to explore over the days -- a wonderful experience.

Riders have shared with us that the BTC is one of the best bike rides in the nation. Our riders come from the U.S., Canada and other countries. Many riders return every year and we strive to make improvements to meet their needs. We thank all of you for your support and input throughout the years. Please join us for our best tour yet.

Services...

Campsite Set up:
Each night before you arrive, BTC volunteers will have created a small city in the middle of rural Colorado. We choose our locations carefully, keeping in mind the scenery, comfort and proximity to local businesses. In the evening, we offer all sorts of luxuries: hot showers, entertainment, a beer garden, bike repair and parts, detail services, massage therapists, chiropractors and a market of vendors. It is a city on wheels.

Indoor Camping:
A High School Gym or a large group tent will be available for indoor camping. Mats, pillows and sleeping bags are not provided. In Fort Collins and Steamboat Springs indoor camping will be a large group tent.

Catered Meals:
Each day the BTC will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for an additional fee. This year the BTC is going to great lengths to choose a caterer with a gourmet flare. A vegetarian meal will be provided if requested on the registration form. This year you will notice the difference in our menus and we hope to please even the most discriminating palettes. Menus will be provided after we finalize the details. So watch for new postings on this.

Entertainment:
The BTC is known for great entertainment. New to this year’s Tour we will assemble to hear weather reports, route updates and voices from the community as they share stories of the town with us. We will have live entertainment by “headliners” everything from comedy to funk. You can count on some local talent as well.

The Royal Treatment:
Each day you will have the support of bike technicians, course workers, medical crews, SAG wagon drivers and an endless parade of local volunteers offering us a home for the night in their small rural towns.

Aid Stations:
The BTC offers the friendliest aid station crews in the West -- with plenty of refreshments to replenish you at several locations within the route. The BTC prides itself on first-rate stations, offering not only refreshments but medical assistance and bike repairs. Everything you will need to make your way to our next destination.

Baggage Smaggage - We’ll Carry Your Gear:
Each day the BTC will transport two bags weighing up to 40lbs pounds each, including your tent and sleeping bag. There will be no trash cans or coolers allowed. The only thing you’ll need to carry is your water, camera and whatever else you choose to seize the day.

Rider Guests:
Some riders wish to share the experience of the BTC tour with family members who do not bicycle. Although the BTC discourages additional vehicles from accompanying the event, arrangements are made for rider guests. Complete details about the rider guest program and a registration form will be included in the Rider Guide. Alternate driving routes will be provided for non-rider guests - additional traffic on the bike route can compromise rider safety. The BTC strives to provide the safest tour possible -- your cooperation is appreciated.

Bike Shipping:
You may ship your bicycle directly to the start of the ride via UPS. People Powered Sports will pick up your bicycle and deliver it directly to the registration area of the tour. People Powered Sports also offers the service of assembling your bicycle and storing the boxes during the ride as well as packing and shipping services at the end. Colorado Bike Laws and Regulations:
All BTC participants are required to know the Colorado bicycle laws and are required to adhere to them. Any participant that chooses not to follow the “rules of the road” will be asked to leave and will not be allowed back to any BTC events in the future. We want the roads safe for all, and we appreciate the communities in which we visit for allowing a group our size to make a home for the night in their towns.
