This website has a great deal of information on the BTC, but nothing on the weather. What was the weather like during tours past? Any advice on riding gear?
Colorado weather is extremely variable. Depending on when you were in a particular place the weather can be good, fair, or bad. We often get thunderstorms in the afternoon. It is usually colder the higher up you go (and warmer the lower you are). Check out www.weatherunderground.com for daily weather history for some of the towns and you will get an idea of what to expect. Raingear is a must every day as clear skies at dawn is not a good indicator of the day's weather. Full finger gloves for the morning, the high passes, and any rain. Shorts and jerseys for the late morning on, unless it rains. A large seat pack, fanny pack, or backpack to carry it all. (I use a hydration pack that has room for extra clothes)
